Seattle Aquarium - $24.95-$36.95

The Seattle Aquarium is located on piers 59, 60 and 61 on the Seattle waterfront. Its establishment began in 1968 when a bond measure was passed that would fund the institution. The physical structure of the aquarium, however, was not completed until 1977. At that time, it received the Grand Conceptor Award for highest achievement in engineering excellence. In 1982 the aquarium was given the Edward H. Bean Award for being the first aquarium to successfully breed the giant Pacific octopus in captivity. In 2007, a large expansion to the aquarium was completed.

The Seattle aquarium is rather compact. There's a lot to see, but there isn't a lot of real estate to cover. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean there very few larger animals. It also does not have much in the way of wow factors. The glass and concrete dome is pretty interesting, but over all there isn't much in the way of exhibitions that makes the Seattle aquarium stand apart. It has the starfish and sea cucumber touching area. It has a jellyfish display. It has seahorses and seals and sea otters. These are all interesting, but somewhat standard for aquariums. Still, if you're in the mood for an aquarium, it isn't bad overall.
